12V Universal Solar Panel 15W

Need a solar power solution that's a bit more compact than our other options? This panel can plug directly into the Ridgetec Lookout-X camera or any other device that can accept a nominal 12V solar panel (max voltage of 15V).

The panel produces 15 watts of output in full sun, and supports daisy chaining.  What this means is the on the back of the panel there is also an input port compatible with its output cable.  Adding a panel in the chain will add 15W more of solar charging power for each added panel.

This panel is designed to work with the Ridgetec Lookout-X camera or any device that accepts 12V panels to expand its solar wattage.

This panel is best used in conjunction with our Ridgetec Lookout-X camera, and provided there is sun, will charge a set of 4 Li-ion 18650 cells inside the camera's battery tray.  This makes for a powerful and convenient set up for those interested in a greener solar solution.

In 2024, a pack of 8 Energizer Lithium AA (throw away) is roughly the same cost as the Ridgetec 4-pack of 18650 rechargeable cells.  The cells should remain usable for 4 to 5 years, saving a lot of cost.

On the Lookout-X with average cell signal, our testing revealed photo upload counts of 3200 to 3500 photos on a single charge of the 18650 4-pack cells.  The 12V panel will charge these to full capacity within an hour or so in full sun.

Ridgetec strongly recommends pairing the 12V Universal Panel, a 4-pack of 18650 cells with each Ridgetec Lookout-X camera for the best performing lowest maintenance cost solution.

Note: The 12V Universal Panel cabling will not fit our previous style of the Solar Power Kit with SAE connectors.

Do not direct connect this panel to any camera without checking the DC specifications first.  Under load the nominal voltage is 12V and without load can read as high as 15V.
